Santa Cruz Shotokan Karate Club
(UCSC Shotokan Karate Club)

At the UCSC club, sessions consist of practice of traditional Shotokan Karate. If you are not sure what that means, please feel free to watch and ask questions after.
Beginners are welcome to join the club anytime during the school year. If there are many beginners at the beginning of a particular quarter, all members may review basics at the speed of the new people for the first couple weeks. If only 1 or 2 beginners begin at once, they may be taken off to the side and taught the most basic techniques by one of the senior students or the main instructor before joining the rest of the group.
Training fee: $30/quarter for students & faculty members. Uniform (karate-gi) is optional and can be ordered through the instructor at a discount.
