Kick-a-Thon 2006!
With the 2005 Kick-a-Thon such a great success, both for the participants and for the charities involved, the 2006 year end Kick-a-Thon was held.At the end of December, 2006, in various locations across the globe, a kick-a-thon took place to benefit important charities. This event was overseen by the Japan Karate Association of Silicon Valley, headquartered in Redwood City, California.
Participants attempted to perform 2007 karate front kicks in one session. This is very challenging. Even those not able to complete all 2007 repetitions did his or her best -- both to help with fund-raising and to challenge themselves.
At the Redwood City location, specifically, the kick-a-thon took place on December 29th from 7-9pm.
Charities to benefit from the Redwood City event were:
Children’s Hope International
Maulana School for Orphans
The Smile Train
Project Vietnam
Helping Hands
If you would like to make a donation to benefit any of the above organizations, please contact event coordinator Jon Keeling or 650-580-3696. Donations on a per-kick basis or lump-sum are both welcome.
