See attached for photos of instructors from the camp (including our own Keeling Sensei) and dojo members who placed in the camp tournament (Matthew, Yong & Ekapol). And Matthew passed his shodan exam at the camp, becoming our newest and youngest black belt!

This is an annual event that is fun for the whole family. Please see the following for details: http://www.shinkyushotokan.us/beach-workout.html
We had 11 kids enter a tournament this past Sunday. And 11 of them won medals and/or trophies (one of them is not in the photo). Great job, kids!
This is the chance to try out our classes for FREE! This will NOT be a typical introductory class, where new people are taught a few basic moves on the side of the room. We will all participate in class together and will go through various basics, simple kata and kumite. New people will get an idea of what the class is really like, through first-hand experience with regular students.
It will be safe and very controlled. But there will most likely be a little sweating involved... ;-)
We will also have the same thing at each class (kids/teens/adults) in our Cubberley location on April 14 (Monday) and at the Buddhist Temple (kids only) on April 15 (Tuesday). Please email firstname.lastname@example.org with questions or to request a spot.
One of the WORLD's biggest and best Karate camps is to take place in Palo Alto, CA, March 26-30, hosted by our dojo! FIFTEEN or more instructors, all of whom have lived in Japan, will be teaching a total of at least FIFTY seminars. Instructors from various locations, including Indonesia and Brazil. Participants are coming from around the world as well. This is the fourth ever seminar of this type, anywhere. And it is happening right HERE! Please plan to be there. http://www.hoitsugan.com/hoitsuganseminars4.html
All area Shotokan black belts invited to participate in our special Instructors' Classes. Next session is Feb 8 (Saturday), 8:30-11:00am. We focus on becoming better instructors; not simply training harder or learning more complex kata (which we may also do ;-) ).
We will have our annual "Shotokan Kata Review" in our Redwood City dojo on Saturday, January 11, 8-10am. In this 2 hours, we will do a minimum of 27 kata, twice each. Everyone who knows at least a few Shotokan kata is welcome to attend. Just $10 fee for non-members!
